So many of us start our job paths in retail, and for some – that leads to long-term, fulfilling careers. With that, it also means there is likely lots of competition out there for the retail job you are applying for.
How do you write a resume that stands out from the rest of the applicants? Here are a few tips, plus a sample retail resume:
Include performance metrics like how much you exceeded your sales goal or how many people you brought in for promotion.
Show your commitment to learning by giving examples on when you took on additional work like merchandising or shipping.
Show how your ideas have been adopted by giving concrete examples on when you influenced change.
Display how your interests outside of work can contribute to your performance.
Use descriptive words such as managed, developed and organized to show your leadership skills.
