Summary

In applying for this internship I am looking forward to utilizing my knowledge in communication and media through my courses at DePaul University. The social skills I have developed working for seven years in sales and customer service will also serve in becoming a productive member of the Telemundo team. Through the positions listed, I have acquired in-depth and diverse knowledge of the field of communication and media that I hope to fully utilize. My motivation, dedication, and my experiences in television and writing for broadcast will enable me to bring a full range of skills and services to this internship opportunity.

Objectives

With the opportunity of interning in Telemundo, I hope to further develop my communication skills by learning about and adapting to the company's environment and its employees. I am looking for an environment in which I can further develop the skills needed to succeed in the increasingly competitive field of journalism.I also hope to expand the company's ability to reach out to the Latino market in the U.S.

I had the honor of representing Wilbur Wright College in a local television program of the City Colleges of Chicago. We discussed former Tribune writer and Northwestern Journalist professor, Stephen Kinzer's book, "Overthrow: America's Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq." It was an unbelievable experience. In addition to earning my Associate of Arts Degree at Wright, I am completing my Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media with a minor in Latino studies at DePaul University.
